babystolemydingo Jul 11, 2005 01:40 PM

ok so we did a fecal, and it came back perfectly fine.

all he wants is bugs. He loves um! oh and he also likes clovers, (flowers & greens) and he also likes dandylion flowers.

But he wont touch his pellets, or greens we buy for him at the store. (collard, mustard, kale, etc..)

ugh.. what now? lol

if he's young, then that's fine for him just to pick. Veggies are not a huge part of their diet yet. If you really want him to start eating more greens, try a spray that makes them taste like crix, i heard that helps. I've never had a prob about mine eating broccoli ahd collards at least. Try mixing it up a bit, mine love strawberries and raspberries (not as a staple) and stay away form spinach, and citris.

It took me a while to find out what my beardies liked after I got them. My female likes carrots and anything thats sweet. My male likes anything green and leafy. I'd always wondered about broccoli but I never saw any lists that said that you could feed beardies broccoli. Mine also seem to like grapes mango strawberries and asian pears. I don't feed mine fruit as a staple but I do feed it to them as a treat along with rose petals.

see thats my problem.. he just wants the treats lol

fruit & flowers i can get him to eat w/o a prob. he used to love mustard greens and kale now i have to literally hand feed it to him to get him to take a bite or two. Maybe i spoiled him? lol

but either way, im gonna keep trying..

he isnt a baby or juvie, hes an adult, about 2 years old.

he deffinately likes anything sweet, ie; berries, flowers, sugar snaps and of course his meat lol. I just cant get him to eat a regular dish of lettuces or pellets anymore.

Ive put juice on the pellets and salads. Nope! Ive mixed mealies in the salads, he picks them out w/o the greens. I dont want to keep holding out cuz that seems so mean to me.

Where can i get this cricket spray? I really would like to try it, it sounds promising

IT's called "T-res Cricket maker" I personally never used it, so shop around to find a good price.

My male stopped eating his veggies recently too and would only eat his mealworms since he stopped eating crickets too. I put mealies in his veggies and tried everything but what I found helped the most was to cut back on how many mealies I gave him so he'd still be hungry enough to eat his veggies too. I feed them mealworms at almost 7am and I don't feed them mealworms again until 7pm so he doesn't have anything other than his veggies until I give him his nightly feeding. My female likes to be hand fed too but thats the only way I get her to try anything new other than for her to see me eat it first and there are just some things that I won't eat lol. Sometimes you can try and try and try but there's really nothing that can be done since they're like kids they'll eat what they like and when they like.

I dont feed mealworms, i just ordered more live Silkies. Mealworms have no nutrition and cause impaction.
