2. Northern Mexican Garter: T eques megalops

3. Western Black-Necked Garter: T cyrtopsis cyrtopsis

4. Narrow-Headed Garter: T rufipunctatus

5. Wandering Garter, Intermountain Wandering Garter: T elegans vagrans

6. Arizona Garter, Arizona Wandering Garter: T elegans arizonae

Stebbins does not recognize the Arizona subspecies T elegans arizonae. Some lists and texts still consider this part of T elegans vagrans.

The Narrow-Headed and Mexican Garters are both on the protected list in Arizona.
