Need HELP/ADVICE Star not eating

PATMAN Jul 11, 2005 02:33 PM

Hi everyone.

My little star tortoise has not been eating much lately and last ate on Friday. It has become lethargic and sleeps all the time. I wake her up to give a soak 3 times a day and then she falls right back to sleep after I take her out of it's soak and put food in front of her. She is not active at all.

I have never seen this in any of my other small tortoises and I am EXTREMELY worried. I plan on taking her to the vet on Wednesday if things do not improve.

I would apprecaite hearing from experienced tortoise keepers who may have had this happen to them or know what the problem may be so I can suggest it to the vet.

Thanks for your help and please keep her in your thoughts for me.

You have a WC import no matter what you were told. Look for major parasite load or bacterial infection.

Those that know Stars probably didn't answer because the outcome does not look good from your description.
