I have seen pics of your tegu and it is big and beautiful! What did you do to get it that way? What do you feed your tegu? I have 2 baby argentines and what would you recommend I feed them?

When he was young i fed him as many crickets he would in a day. Sometimes 2 times a day. I remeber feeding him 12 mice in one week around 8-11 mounths old.He also did not hibenate till this last year . And then he only hibernated f0r 9-14 days.I have a gowth chart for him if you would like to have it email me at russpettit@yahoo.com. So feed them as much as they will eat .and give them a basking temp of 120 . Yuo can increas it as they get older. Santiago likes 130-140 now.Thanks russ

Russ, did you dust your crickets with calcium or vitamins? Do you use them now?

yes every feeding with Mineral all indoore. No I dont feed them now. he does eat kingworms still .thanks russ

no I dont . I did have a blue female that I found a good home for .He tryed to mate with her , but was not lucky.

I got Santiago from Ron St. Peirre. He was 2-21/2 weeks old and 9.5" long . I will post a picture of him as a baby. take care russ

Russ, I am waiting for a baby black and white tegu from ron st. pierre. His wife told me they were not going to breed the reds or the regular black and whites any more. They are going to stick to the blues, redxblue, and albinos. They have been selling their adult breeders on kingsnake classifieds. Wish I could afford some of them. Hey Russ, May be you could start breeding Santiago and sell the babies! He sure is a beautiful tegu. You have done a wonderful job with him. I wouldn't mind purchasing one of Santiagos babies! 1tegufan

I have 2 young children, dont have the time to breed any lizards .Maybe I will try jeweled lacertas nexit year ,maybe.thanks russ

Do you feed Santiago canned cat food and canned dog? My vet said it was okay as long as it was a good brand like 9 lives. Thanks, 1tegufan

No . I dont recomend it .all they need is rodents fruit and bugs .thats it .russ
