Is this enclosure too short to breed rats?

Joeycoco98 Jul 11, 2005 10:05 PM

I built my rack system to house mice now, I am wanting to breed rats since the mice are to small for my kings. The containers I had for the mice are 34.59" x 17.74" x 6.49" (overkill but I wanted them to be comfortable). In one of the threads on here I remember seeing demensions of at least 70 square inches of floor space (I have that covered) but the height is only 6.49". Is that half an inch going to make a big differce or would I need to breakdown my racks (not going to be easy)and adjust the shelves to fit a 7" high container?

Thanks in advance for your replies,

Miller
