lottasnakes Jul 12, 2005 01:48 AM

I just bought an albino sinaloan (or am in the process of) and I was showing a pic of said snake to a friend ...they tell me it is a nelson. Are there any big differences

not that I care because I like my new purchase alot. I am just being curious

The answer to the question is not a simple one...! Here's a great link, which addresses the question thoroughly:

http://www.kingsnake.com/critter/nelvsin.htm

Once you read it, you'll agree that the differences are less and less!

Please show us a photo of your albino Sinaloan (Nelson's)!!!

GREAT LINK! Based on the pic I have
It keyes out more toward sinaloan than nelson but I dont have it in my hands to check for sure.

I will post a pic when I get him. He should arrive tomorrow

And like I said I dont care which he is per se but it would be nice to say the right thing when asked

i never heard about any clean albino sinaloan in my life, i think that if the price you bought your albino milk is near the 115 usd it most be a albino nelson.
plz show us the photos of him, and who know

I actually recently started seeing albino sinaloan milks for sale, and I considered getting one. But, I hadn't heard of an albino sinaloan until 2005, and at a price around $120 each, they can't be pure.

I'd like to get a pure one though, one day.

Seeing how Sinaloa and Nelsoni are sympatric and many taxonomists have synonimised the two subspecies I see no real meristic differentiation other than triad count which is not a true definition of subspecific status. Therefore It is what you call it.
