They will eat mainly fish but also frogs,salamanders.. hope this helps...

I believe this species of watersnake (the Diamondbacked Watersnakes - Nerodia rhombifer) actually eat a lot of small catfish and are partial to sick and dying fish which are a lot easier for them to catch.

They aren't shy about checking out fish on a stringer--however they are easily discouraged from stealing the catch!
