A lot of super nice animals. I'm really starting to like some of the black animals from the Christmas. Hey, that one of your's from 285 north is a knock out.

??????? are these adds to the to the photo gallery wild caught are c.b???????

Joe Forks Jul 13, 2005 11:09 AM

Charlie,
All these additions are WC.

I know there are some CB's in those galleries, and I'll start weeding them out soon.

The idea is to stack the galleries with better photos first, so we don't lose so much when I start purging cruddy photos and CB stuff on the back end. So don't take offense when your CB Black Gaps suddenly are gone.

And the reason your B.G. animal is not credited to you is because we always credit the photographer, who owns the photo, and not the collector.

Best
Joe

Hey Joe,
Just FYI, #554 under the Black Gap speciman photos that you have listed as "unknown" is actually a photo I took of John Martins 1991 Black Gap male that he collected very early {may 3rd] about 2.5 north of La Linda. I paid an astonomical amount for this wild caught male only to have it die of respiratory illness during its first hibernation!!! I've never paid even half as much since for any snake. Live and learn.
By the way, kudos to you for all the work you've done on the alterna maps and image gallery. I know its a lot of work with no pay but everyone who looks at it appreciates what you've done. If no one has done so allready I would like to make a nomination for the August wild caught of the month: John Fraser's west of Sanderson 12" female. Since no one has caught any Gap snakes this year, that I know of, this is the closest one to it. Thanks again Joe. BA

do you still have those Black gap photos?
I'd be happy to rescan them, update the page, and burn the
scans to a CD for you.

let me know.
same goes for anyone wishing to update their old scans on this site.
