question re: adding males & females

BigJon Jul 12, 2005 02:09 PM

am getting ready to set-up my 'display tank again' which will also eventually be used to house a 1.2 breeding group.

i'm probably about 2-3 months away from adding the male and females together. my question is, do i put the male in the display tank now and add the females later? OR do i put the 2 females in the display tank and add the male to the tank later?

does it matter? if so, why?

You might want to put in the females first and then the males. The reason being is that some males become territorial and may become aggressive toward their new cage mates. At times there is no aggression, at other times there is, I don't take my chances. If they are all of breeding age/weight you probably would be fine putting them all in at once. Just MHO from my experiences. -Joe
