There were 14 eggs in this clutch but only 7 made it full term. All seven are really awesome looking snakes. Next clutch is due to hatch around the 17th....woohoo I love this stuff.

PS Great Cal kings hatchlings.
Keep 'em coming....
Now that is one great looking clutch of hatchling thayeri Russ, you sure know how to make a bunch of mexicana freaks insanely jealous!
All look awesome....congrats. I'm curious...How long was the incubation on that clutch?
Jim
This clutch was laid on May 5th and started hatching on the 10th of July. They took their sweet time...almost 3 days to come out of the eggs
66 days total if my math is right.
Russ
Thanks Russ,
I'm currently at 55 days on my first clutch ever and was trying to figure out my time frame. So you can imagine how nervous and excited i am right now....he he he
Thanks Jim
The first year I successfully produced eggs from my thayeri, I waited exactly 60 days and then decided I couldn't wait nay longer. In my infinite wisdom, I decided I would cut the eggs open to see what I had inside. So far so good and I saw beautiful little thayeri all curled up in their eggs. So I waited 2 more days and then decided I needed to chase them from their eggs....which meant they came out with their yoke sacks attached. In most cases the yoke sacks just fell off after a day or so and I suffered no long term problems with that clutch of kings. I guess what I'm trying to say is...be patient and let them come out on their own. I've had thayeri start hatching as early as day 58 but typically 62-67 days is the average when incubated at temps of 78-82....mostly averaging 80.
It's tough to wait I know but you'll be rewarded in the end.
Good luck,
Russ
Russ, thanks for the words of wisdom! I will make sure i tie my hands behind my back, because it sure is tempting to get things going.
Thanks Jim
Russ, you mean your supposed to cut them open?.......I've been using a drill....could'nt understand why so many were dead in the shell......lol, mike

Wow Russ, That's a pretty cool clutch. Although they're all leonis phase I like how the clutch covered almost every color spectrum of what thayeri can produce. From an almost white into grey into peach and then orange. That's what I call variable. Btw, What animals did you use for these breeding? Can't wait for the after shed pics!
