7 good eggs from this Unproven Hypo

EmberBall Jul 12, 2005 10:33 PM

She finally laid, 7 good eggs, one "little" egg, a runt looking thing, but still, 7 great looking ones. She was bred by a Bell line orange hypo.

First pic, recent pic of the female
Second Pic, Bell line male ghost and normal female
Third pic, old pic of the female

She looks like a Burgandy hypo. I don't think she'll be compatable with your Orange Hypo..........but I guess you'll know in about 52-60 days. If she isn't compatable hopefully she is genetic and you produced double hets.

Corey

Hey Corey, have you tried a Burgundy type hypo breeding with a proven line of ghost, say a yellow, butterscotch or orange before? If so, I am guessing your results were inconclusive, or possibley DH's?? If you got some DH's, have been able to breed them out to see what would result? I am curious, I really like the Hypos, have a het green pair, a yellow female, and some others. Plan on trying to get some nice Hypo crosses one day. I wonder if all the Burgundy lines would be compatible?

Hey Dayve, How is that male hypo and those females doing?

Hey Robert, have not seen you in awhile man! Good to hear from you. The Bell line male I got from you is the one in the pics, he is awesome. The normal female in the pic with him might be one of the poss hets I got from you, but not sure. The poss het females are all in the 1200-1400 gram range, and will breed this coming year. Could have pushed em this year, but would rather get them up over 1500 grams. I am either going to breed them to my Mojave het Hypo male, if he is big enough at breeding time, or breed the male Bell hypo to them, should be interesting.

I have a female that looks very similar to your pictured girl. Mine has nice coppery/goldish sides and major blushing. Better yet she is an adult that slams rats, and she only cost me $50 a couple of months ago. She will be out of quarantine, and hopefully will give me some eggs this coming season. Best of luck proving her out.

Peace,
Ian Daviss
