wayne13114 Jul 13, 2005 09:58 AM

my hog laid a clutch of eggs on june 2nd, all but one died I was wondering how long do they usually take to hatch, on a side note she dropped her 2nd clutch yesterday and all of them look good so far. also temps are about 80 to 85 and humidity is about 85-90 thanks

Is what I've read. My first clutch of 9 was laid June 6, so I'm a few days behind you. But she is opaque now and has been eating great so I'm hoping she's on her way to a second clutch.

Seems like the timing is about right from your experience.

Good luck!

Im cooking eggs for a buddy who had his eastern drop 15 eggs on June 13. I keep my room at 82-85 degrees.
That puts them at about end of august or beginning of september

I would lower them down to 76-80F. Studies have shown that internal egg temperature can be several degrees warmer than the outside temperature. I was told this by a University Professor who breeds snakes.

Remember, the longer you cook em, the bigger they will be at hatching.

Ok, noted. Right now, since day 2 of these eggs before they were even in the setup I currently have for them, they've had kind of a bad smell. Will healthy eggs still put off a smell or should they be oderless? Im getting some white mold on a few too, is it possible they are not fertile?
