If he wont go in his humid hide, then you can mist him a bit, but my leo gets annoyed when I do this. What side is the humid hide on? If its on the warm side, good, if the cold side, then move it to the warm side, if its on the cold side he might not want to go in it because its wet and cold from a geckos point of veiw.

What do you guys mean by a humid hide? I have 2 hides (1 on each side of the tank).

You can find a pic of my tank setup here:

a humid hide is a tupperware container or coolwhip container with a hole cut in the top or side filled with moist peat moss.. damp paper towel or soil...you place this on the warm side of the tank.. this helps with shedding, and also provides a nice damp hide for you leo..

Ok, well if you look at my tank setup, on the "warm" side of the tank I have a terra-cotta hideout which happens to look like a turtle shell (I thought it was very cool.. sue me.. hehe). So should I just put a bit of moist peat moss inside of there and they'll be okay?? I have slight holes in the top, so the humidity could get out....

yeah and if you want you could put a tupperware lid underneath their hide to hold the moss so it doesn't mess up the floor..

Make sure the humid hide is covered (shaded) and dies not let in much light - remember, these guys are nocturnal. Move the humid hide half over the warm end and half on the cool end. Try using paper towels - my gex love it. Mist your leo until the shed is over - less than a day. RR
