The largest wild caught in Kansas is a female collected in "Harper County with a total length of 2260 mm(88 3/4 inches)and a weight of about 3630 grams (8 pounds)collected...21 May 1981. Maximum length for this snake is 100 inches."

He calls them gopher snakes. In Kansas that would be P.c. sayi.
100 inches and 8 lbs plus, WOW. I don't know what has been produced in captivity. The 277 bulls and norther pines get big.
My dad talks about finding and showing me an 8 feet plus bull snake on my grandad's farm in Oklahoma about 1955.

however I believe Ron has sold off all of his pits to make room for other projects. It is a nice animal for sure! Take care all!

Jeremy's right. It was Ron's when the picture was taken. I believe Ron got the snake from Scott Crumbly and it and its mate are the source of the Crumbly line of Red Bulls. I bought a pair from Ron last year and they are awesome guys. I may be wrong, but I think Ron got a clutch this year before selling the parents. You might check with him at the crawl space. Good luck!
