Preventing contact with hot bulbs

goini04 Jul 13, 2005 11:19 PM

Hello all,

I would like to know if anyone has any ideas on how to prevent your snake from having contact with a hot bulb inside the cage? I find that having the bulb inside makes for easier control over temperature, but I dont wish to have any incidents.

Any ideas would be great!

Thanks and Best Wishes,

Chris

Here's a link to Big Apple Herp's Bulb Safety Cage. Seems like it will work great for covering the bulb as well as the mounting fixture, which can be mounted to the inside top of a cage. You can use a solid cage top which will retain heat and humidity much better than anything with openings.

A couple small vents on the cage sides or back and you're in business.
