Another "what kind of box turtle" post...

This was found well inside the range of the Florida box turtle, but in a very populated area, where releases/escapees are likely. It certainly does not look anything like a Florida box to me. I believe it's a female three-toed, though it looks a little different from the other 3-toeds I've seen. It does have 3-toes on each of its hind legs, for what thats worth.

The links aren't working. Some easterns will have three toes, but probably only about 1 in 30 individuals, although I'm sure it's a genetic thing for some localized populations. Easterns are so variable, that some look sort of like three-toeds as well.

Someone was trying to tell me it was an old/aberrant Florida box. I've got another oddball I found around here that I will post soon.
