Lenore, my female Eastern, turned one year old today…well, actually it was yesterday by a few hours (7/13). She’s roughly 37 inches long.

Another Pic...

I'm just surfing the forum and am curious how big Indigos typically are at one year old? Is 3 feet about average?
I have an 11 month old IL bullsnake that is about 40 inches.
How long do Indigos take to get BIG, those that get to 8 feet?

I'm not the most experienced in the world but I've been told from a friend who owns 4-5 adults that his averaged 36-48 inches in their first two years but were very thick. After that they seemed to put on length very quickly with all going over the five foot mark within their third year. So far my female is following that path as she is not quite two yet and sitting at around 40" but she's super thick.
I saw a 2 year old female the other day that measured almost 56". Seems she might be a little bigger than average. Besides the "indigo growth rate post" a while back, there's not alot of info on the growth rates.

She's looking GREAT! You've done a real nice job with this snake and it is always cool to see "one of your own" doing so well. Keep up the great work!

Thanks Rob. And thanks for helping me become the owner of the coolest species of snake.
I definitely want to get a male now...I think I might look into one next season, or maybe a yearling/adult if an oportunity comes up.
