Hello first time posting in the forum

Twntyshooter Jul 14, 2005 08:34 AM

Hello everyone this is my first time posting in this forum. I have usually just been posting in the anaconda forum but I figured I should prolly be in both. I have a female Burmese Python and female Green Anaconda. Both still youngins. The Anaconda is about 3 months and the Burmese is about 2 months. They are both doing pretty well and eating great! I just wanted to share a couple pics in here and see how live this furum is. I hope there are a lot of picture sharers in here. I love seeing other peoples animals and hearing from other people. So hopefully there are some freinds to be made in here that enjoy the same. Get back to me with some of your photos.

Hi "Twntyshooter";

Welcome to the forum. That's a good looking young burm you have there (and it looks like she has the usual burmese appetite (which is huge!)).

I don't post much on this forum anymore - I've been disuaded from doing so by useless quarrelling here in the past, mostly by people who have a whole lot to say about a whole lot of nothing. It kind of took the fun and purpose out of the forum. Nowadays I just kind of pop in from time to time to see if anyone has any good photos to share (and occasionally I share a few myself). Of course, there are some good people in this forum who have good, solid, experienced advice and stories to share (which is the one thing that keeps me checking back every now and again).

I'd love to see more photos of your burm - but preferably not eating. Please don't take offense to that; I just have this aversion to posting photos of snakes while they are eating. Something about it just doesn't seem appropriate; as the image of a 'slimy' snake eating a 'cute-and-fuzzy' gives 'fear-fuel' to people who dislike or fear snakes. I also sympathize with the animal, in that I wouldn't want anyone posting photos of me online, caught with my mouth stuffed full of a rat's [-censored-]!

Still, I like your photos - and that Canon 20D you have is a sweet camera to work with. I look forward to seeing some great pics of your burm.

Thanks for sharing the photos & Welcome to the forum,
- Mark

Welcome...looking forward to your posts as your snakes grow.
I must comment thoufg, I agree with Mark on the feeding pic thing.For all the same reasons. We all keep large constrictors here, so we know what feeding burms look like. Others eavesdropping may not find it as fascinating.
Such as those using feeding pics of cute bunnies and such being crushed as fuel to the anti herp crowd. Our hobby has enough of a PR problem already.
Keep posting...we wanna see 'em grow.
And grow they will!!!!

Yes I understand what you guys mean. I will get more in of them not eating! I somewhat agree with what you are saying. But I also feel that its a type of documentation. People need to see that side as well. Some people just cant handle that part of it and thats fine. I guess they just dont need to keep these animals. But I do understand and I will get other photos in there as well. My feeding picks have kinda been my main source of photos so far on here. Thanks a lot for replying to my message. It is nice to hear from good people!

Nice photos. You know photoshop well? I am just about done with school. I am studying Digital Photography at the International Academy of Design and Technology in Tampa, Florida. Where are you from/live. And do you do any photography? Thanks for responding. Its good to here from intelligent people! Ill work on getting more good photos. I have justg basically taken a few snap shots here and there. I will get some in there of them not eating as well. I am just so busy lately. Its mainly when I do take some snapshots. Is when I feed them. I will get them out and about for a photoshoot or two though. hahhaa! -Later

what kind of background do you use for your pics? It is black but is it velvet? I read recently of a guy using black melamine for a black background but in my area melamine is not available at all. Good to see someone coming here to the forum that will be repsonsible. Well you seem responsible and you seem to realy love your snakes too. I used to be here all the time posting but I have lost interest in the forum ebcause of stupid people starting trouble, although recently it seems the trouble is clearing.
