The following is my opinion on husbandry. I happen to keep rosies and Children's pythons, and I've learned a few things in the process.
1st: Rosies do way better in well-ventilated caging than in a tub with very little. If you live in areas where the humidity is low or even moderate, then tubs may be fine, but I've seen the difference ventilation makes. Much healthier rosies. Better ability to withstand temp extremes. Fantastic appetites.
2nd: Most snakes do way better in reasonably-well-ventilated caging. It is more important than cage size. Even snakes that hide all the time do better with ventilation. If you do use sweaterboxes, put in many holes.
3rd: Although Childrens/spotted pythons are not large snakes, I think it is bad practice to cram them in tight cages. Even though these snakes will hide in the smallest of hides and crevices, they enjoy a cage with a little crawling room, because these things come alive at night. Doesn't have to be huge, just not super small.
That said, here is what I say, and it may be unpopular:
Rosies: 28-32qt is more than enough room for all but the largest of the largest, but the low ventilation of many rack systems sucks for these snakes.
Corns: 28-32qt is ok for some of the smaller adults, but the larger corns need some room and will use it. I'm all for big corn cages. Like those Iris CB-70s.
Childrens pythons: Depends on the size of the individual. Females can get girthy. I say CB-70 with lots of hides is better than a 28qt box.
