Hey Matthew! Stevie is huge! I don't think his eyesight problem has affected his growth rate at all! The little stinker is gunna eat us out of our house.
LOL
These two photos were taken 2 weeks ago. And his tail was going into shed when I took them.

For those of you who don't know about Stevie, Matthew sent Stevie to come and live with us when he found out that Stevie couldn't see like the other dragons. He has trouble focusing in on live, moving prey, and he used to have problems finding his way around his enclosure. Stevie is now in his permanent enclosure, and we have no plans to relocate him. Moving him to another home would be like taking a blind man out of his home and expecting him to learn his way around a strange house. Although Stevie isn't blind, he really doesn't see well. He's been in his permanent enclosure for a few months now and he knows every square inch of it. Getting around, even up to the second level, is no problem for him.
I have adapted to Stevie's special needs and he and I have a, well, an understanding, you could call it. You see, whenever Stevie saw my hand, all he saw was movement and he went after it. He would try to eat my hand! He didn't know any better. Now, with a little training, things are different. Believe it or not, when I touch Stevie's mouth, he knows that I have something for him to eat and he will either try to bite at what I have in my hand or he will open his mouth slightly so I can place it on his lips. Usually it's his favorite, silkworms. But when it's bath time, or just time to come out and play, or for me to clean his cage, I gently slide my hand under his belly and get him out. And he never even tries to bite my hand.
Pretty cool little guy huh? Thanks again Matthew for sending him to us!
Hugs,
Veronica
