ox735 Jul 14, 2005 02:32 PM

what happened...my readed-headed agama just started convulsing, went limp, pretty much died. he has slowly 'come back' and is breathing again. any help would be appreciated. we are trying to get a hold of a vet, but the ones in this area dont know much about herps.

The list of possibilities is as long for reptiles as it is for mammals. The most common reason for pet herps to seizure is a lack of calcium; often related to a poor diet. Other differentials in no particular order may include tumor, toxicity, and trauma.

Go to herpvetconnection and/or www.arav.com to find a reptile vet in your area. ALso call around for referals from those non-herp vets that you've already contacted.
Good luck!
