question about quarentine tank size(I could use abit of help on this one)

darcy Jul 15, 2005 12:42 AM

hey all.
I have a question about my quarentine tank. It was designed for my boas and colubrids it is 4ft X 2ft X 2ft. any how I just bought a burm between 9 and 10 feet long and I was wondering if this tank would be big enough for the quarentine period (I seperate new snakes from my snake room for about 30day's) I have the snake's permanent home finished but I don't want to risk infection or infestation of it or the rest of my collection by puting her in the same room with all my oldies. I alway's
Mite-bath new arrival's in a seperate room and the "Q"-tank is in this room. I know that bigger is alway's better but It's just for 1 month and it's easier to clean acrylic than painted plywood. I could really use the input.
Thanks in advance.

I guess it should be ok for a month, just guessing from how my 6' fits into her 6x2.5x18".

Hi,
This sounds very good. I'm glad you're taking precautions. I would also try to feed similarily sized items to what the snake is used to eating.
