Today when I got the 2nd leo, I took all the remaining crickets out of the tank, so I will know when they are eating and not eating. From today, how long should I wait to put crix back in? How many should I put in, and should I use a dish, or just let them loose and have the leos hunt them??

No I didn't. I know where the new baby came from, and the guy is a vet. Plus I've only had the other one for 2 days, so I just went for broke, I will be doing that with the last two. Which brings me to my next question, how long do you quarentine them?

Regarding crickets & making sure the leos eat... first - gutload (feed well) your crix for at least a day prior to feeding to your leos (same with mealies) - do this right! Take the crix and put some in a clean coffee can and shake them until they are stunned - can walk, but don't launch (don't kill them). Now, take a cricket and drop it near your leo and enjoy the hunt! I do this with crickets and mealies almost every other day. I also offer mealies in a small food dish daily. The result of this type of feeding is that they are extremely used to me and two of my trio will accept food from my hand readily. Be sure to properly offer calcium in a dish and dust the food insects often with both a vitamin and calcium. If you take the time to feed your leos well, they will put on weight and fill out quickly. Good luck...RR

if you dont have the time to put cricket by cricket in, you can throw a few in for a couple of hours at night. Leos are mostly active around this time, and will hunt. Just put them in at about 7:00-8:00 and then take them out when you go to bed. This is I do with crix and have had good results. I mainly feed supers and mealies now though.
