Small Noise

pythin066 Jul 15, 2005 09:54 AM

I've asked this on another forum. My SK line 05' 87 gram normal female has a small crackling noise coming from inside it. Like when you crack your back. My question is - is something wrong with her? She seems to be acting normal. Is this normal? Thanks.

Have you talked to the breeder?

Well, after I went to the vet for the first check-up (as I do with all my snakes) I asked about it and he said that it was normal but that I should not try and make it happen. It only happens when she "bends" like around the corner. Or when she weaves though my fingers. So it must be her bones. My corn snakes do it too. So....I need some help? I am terrified of losing her.

Yeah, last year my 04' male had made a similar sound. The way that you described it sounds just like it. Wow, I feel better now.

I had a couple of hatchlings that made a sound - kinda like crinkling tissue paper sound - when they were very small. Wierd - but it went away - it didn't appear to affect them in the slightest and they're growing great.
