This isnt their basking area, just a Y shaped branch which they decided to share for some reason. They are about 5 years old or so, I dont really remember. Their new outdoor pond has been completed and they will be moving outside soon!

I noticed you listed what ages your turtles were in this post. My question is: you have turtles that are years older than the baby you got. How did you get them to live peacefully?
I had one turtle, Shelby, and last year introduced a male hatchling, Squirt, to her and she began to coexist with him very well, like he was her own. She died in an unfortunate, we'll say, swimming accident. Now my male is a year old today, and yesterday I obtained another hatchling, not sure if its male or female yet, although I feel its a male. Squirt is not reacting to the hatchling the same as Shelby had previously. He tends to nip at the little one, although I don't think he hurts the baby. Right now I only introduce the baby to the older one for about an hour or so at a time and I feed the bigger one while the little one is present to help wear down negativities towards each other. Squirt is nipping the small one every once in a while, but the baby just takes it; he doesn't show any signs of pain, he'll just pull the limb the larger one is tormenting into his little shell and swim away.
I was wondering if this nipping is going to be okay or if I should wait until the hatchling is of a certain size to add him permanantly. Also, if I should wait, should I continue to introduce the turtles everyday also?
Thanks for your help!
PS your turtles look so well behaved!
