KUSA (Denver, Colorado) 15 July 05 6-foot rattlesnake captured on video in Broomfield (Dan Werner)
Broomfield: Skateboarders love to take-on obstacles in their path, but when Thor Scheefer came across a 6-foot rattlesnake, he figured this was one obstacle he better avoid.
Scheefer was skateboarding near the Summit at Flatirons Apartments in Broomfield when he came across the large rattler. He contacted Broomfield Animal Control, which caught the snake.
In these situations, animal control typically captures the snake and then releases it in open space. But because this was the second call they got for the same snake in the area, the animal was destroyed.
The capture of the snake was caught on home video, which can be viewed in the video section on this page.
