Hi I was wondering what companies ship a 10 lb blood python this is the first time I have shipped any live animal. I want to make sure I do it right the first time. Need some feed back how to ship it or how you guys do it? Also how you found out the shipping costs etc. I have someone in the line to buy my blood so I need to inform him soon.

Delta Dash is probably your best bet for a snake that heavy. You can also ship UPS overnight but I would think it would be pretty expensive for a snake that large.

i sold my boa a few months ago and shipped him overnight fedex. the total weight was 15lbs (snake, container, packaging, and box). total came to $83. id avoid ups (if they cant find the address, which is what usually happens, they will just drop the package off anywhere) and dhl (delivers hours late)if i were you. delta dash and fedex are your best bets.

for shipping one 10lb snake, there will probably not be a huge financial benefit of Delta Dash vs FedEx vs UPS. DHL usually runs cheaper, but I advise against using them for several reasons...can be summed up by simply stating that DHL sucks. Unfortunately, you may run into difficulties finding someone to ship it. BY POLICY, UPS does not ship snakes (yes, we know they make "exceptions" for some companies/people); DHL does not accept live animals - period (again, sometimes some offices will let it go); FedEx DOES ship snakes, but there is a certification process which takes a bit of time; and Delta Dash also ships snakes, but I believe that they also have a verification process. You can "sneak it through" by not identifying it as a snake, but you risk the package not being shipped if they find out (not to mention that that is a blatant violation of the Lacey Act). Things are starting to look up, in that one major shipper wants to work with us...don't put that at risk for the sake of a quick sale.
