Remember this Brazilian Redtail

She is gravid and looks like she is going to burst already with 2 months still to go. I have raised her from a newborn in 2000'. By all rights she should be dead from a base board room heater that I thought was turned off late last year. I had an older and larger huge peaked yellow N. Brazilian in the cage below hers. I found her dead and she ray gunned out at 125F body surface temp. This girl checked 115F. The heater had been on since the previous evening cage cleaning session. This girl was opaque at the time. Maybe that helped some. She shed and never showed any signs, went on feeding and bred this April/May at 4.5 yrs old. I got lucky since she was my favorite out of a rare bloodline.

A nice pic of the white male from a differnt 2000' litter of the same bloodline.

He is from her litter. This is the most colorful Brazilian bloodline I have seen. They were in a 6' x 3' Vision with paper towels on the floor. Every square inch of paper towels had spur tear marks as these two battled it out like a championship fight.

Sorry to hear about the loss, but it looks like you are on your way to some screamers. The light male is pretty damn sweet. Since you no longer have a need for him, shoot him my way... Good luck with the litter and amazing snakes.

Although I enjoy all of the BCc localities, Brazilians are arguably the nicest in my humble opinion. Best of luck with those beauties. Hope you get some real screamers.----RON

I don't always post but I lurk quite a bit, and I can defintely remember seeing that girl before. I am very sorry to hear of your loss. I wish you the best with this surviving girl. I will keep my fingers crossed for her future babies. They will surely be fanastic!

Im glad to hear that she is gravid. I have been looking for a nice pair of NB's for a long time. I really hope you plan on letting a few go for sale if she gives you a good litter. By the way my "97'" female is on day 85 and looking good but I'm not uncrossing my fingers until she gives birth. Good luck Mike

a huge plus to the BCC world if your litter comes thru as that is a very special bloodline as well. Best of luck.
