baby bloods

chrindels Jul 16, 2005 07:36 PM

Hey I just thought I would post a couple of pics of my new babies. They hatched last week these are 2 of 13. I was curious if anyone has any idea about hints to adult color. They come from a yellow female and a red male. Last year her clutch was a lot lighter than this and they all have seemed to turned yellow like their mom. This clutch seems more of a deep brown color, and I was wondering if this means that they have a better chance of turning red? any imput would be appreciated.
thanks Chris

Did you find out about any of the other sibs from last year besides mine? Nosy looked a little orange when she was sittin with me yesterday... I still don't know how she's gonna turn out... LOL It'll be fun to find out!

Hows it going
Yeh I have seen pics of about half of them and they all look pretty yellow. I went through the same thing with my female, If you look hard enough you can see red in any snake I think but more wishful thinking than anything else. You will have to post a more recent pic for me to see. The new one pictured is the only one with any kind of stripe at all, definitely not like yours.

hahaha... good to know I got the pick of the litter. I knew it was going to be a good day when your table was the first one I saw...

Here's some pics I took last week when the sun was shining...

Wow
she is really getting some nice size to her. How is her temperment? I have had a couple of people say that some snakes out of that clutch had an attitude but I dont know how much they handle them. We got a table down there this year too, you should see the jungle carpets we got this year very very nice. Im sure I will see ya there.

Oh, she's a big baby. She only got a little hissy once, when I was showing her to a very energetic 6 year old neighbor. Even I was nervous with her bouncing around the house... the kid climbed my cat tree, LOL.

I get her out maybe once a week, more often every other week, and she's just great. Easy to get out, and calm as can be sitting with me.

Hey
here is a picture of her mom that I just took today. She looks alot like her I think, without the stripe of course. Mom is about 4 1/2 years old so I dont think her color is gonna change much.

I have a pair of bloods and a pair of borneos. the borneos are still a season or two away from breeding attempts, but Im looking forward to it. I would really like a pair of blacks, the darker the better. How are your hatchlings doing? you have some of the nicest adults I have ever seen.
Thanks Chris

Nosy is an '04 blood I purchased from chris last year. So she's from a previous clutch. Since dads so red and moms so yellow, we've both been curious how the babies will turn out when they're grown...

Very pretty babies. As far as adult colors go, I have taken darker females and lighter females and watched them over the years to find that it didn't matter. Either way yours should make killer looking adults starting out that pretty... Thanks for sharing... jody

Hey,
I'd say looking at the pictures of these guys that your chances are pretty good that these will turn out to be pretty close to red if not red. Beautiful babies!
