I hadn't even intended to try to feed them, but had thawed fuzzies for other snakes and thought I'd give it a shot on Friday night. Thirteen of the baby black bloods ate -- frozen thawed -- first attempt!
I stopped then because it was late and I'd used all the fuzzies I had thawed. Saturday I tried thawed rat pups on the others and five more ate. That's eighteen out of twenty five eating frozen thawed on first attempt.
I defininitely thank people like the Barkers who had the expertise and took the time to work with wild caughts and make success stories like this possible.
PS -- The photos aren't the best, and I can't figure out how to make them come up in the correct order. The top photo is after it swallowed the rat pup, the lower is just after it grabbed it.
