ORANGE BELLY.....?

blackbook Jul 17, 2005 12:34 PM

my 9 month old argentine black and white has a BRIGHT orange belly. he just shed a few days ago and now his belly is bright orange.....is this normal for a black and white? i've never seen this or read about their belly's turning orange. he looks good, eats awesome and is tame as a puppy so i don't think it's a bad thing... any help would be appreciated. thanks

If the belly just spontaneously turned orange...like overnight...it might be a cause for concern...although I don't know what it would mean...

My argentine B&W male has an orange belly - he has ever since I got him. So don't be too concerned I'd say it most likely totally normal.

What kind of substrate is he on? Mine is on dirt now, but I had mine temporarily on Reptibark (which is no good), but his stomach could get reddish orange from the wood. (The wood chips didn't have any dyes i don't think, but they probably had oils with natural pigments in them.

I don't know why yours would be orange right after he shed tho. If he is eating OK and acting OK, he is probably OK for now. Like they say - if it aint broke, don't fix it!
