importnant vieled question

mickelo Jul 17, 2005 01:01 PM

I just got my new chameleon, its a few months old and i believe its a girl. I have been doing all of my research (before i got it of coarse) and i came arcoss one thing that im not sure of..

i read in one place that all female veiled chameleons are going to lay eggs even if they never see a male. it also said that if you do not have a place for the chameleon to lay its eggs that it will not lay them and die. Is this true? and any more information, i would be thankful.

will lay eggs, even if not bred. You will need to supply her with a nesting box when she becomes gravid. And yes, they can become egg-bound which can lead to death.

Even if they are not fertile you have to provide a nest like the poster said, here is a link with good info for you to read!
Talks about setting up the female for laying.

Best wishes with your little girl!
