well i went back and said hey umm u are doing it wrong .. u are inserting the probe in the wrong way .. turns out every snake he probed was the oppostite sex .. i probed 9 of his balls .. each one he said was male was actually female and each one he said was female was actually male .. i mean he had some balls that were 5 years old and i mean u can just tell they were males from their size .. well anyway he said tha the has been probing that way for like 9 years !!! that is alot of wrong sexing .. i feel bad for the snakes and the people who got them ... but there is somin i noticed .. if u probe like him .. THE WRONG WAY .. then its opposite .. as in it goes in deeper with the females and shorter with the males .. it seems pretty accurate also but IT SHOULDNT BE DONE bc it can injure the snakes big time ... i am gonna teac hhim how to probe sometime this week ... remember .. do things urself if u know how to do it .. bc ya never know whatthe other person is doing !!! have a good one

Im not trying to be confrontational on this, but yu were on here the other day asking if he was probeing right or not, and had to have the process explained to you. So that leads me to believe that you didnt really know how to probe in the first place, so why are you going around probeing his animals, and how do you expect to show him the right way?

As far as probeing backwards being accurate, Im going to have to disagree. Im not going to type out a rationalization, just think about it for yourself, and im sure you'll understand.

I've known how to probe since I was 10 or 12 years old. I am 30 now! Are you talking to me?

BTW: males can get as large as females in this species!!!!

I have seen males as well that are around 3000 grams, but I would say 90% of balls that get that big are female. Just based on what I have seen imported and in captivity. Also, really big males still do not have the same girth as really big females.

and yes.males can get bigger than females due to the fact that they never waste energy on egg laying....

probing backwards........I'll do this in real common English...

in a male vent there is 2 openings ......? urethra and colon.......in a female 3 ,there is oviduct also ...(do I have tubes named correctly?.) anyways......

IF you shove a probe into a male or female the wrong way...and hit the colon........you can theoretically shove it all the way out their mouth?.........

do it correctly or don't do it at all........

and learn to pop babies...it is more trustworthy because you actually see whether it is male or female by the scent glands or the penes........?

I myself prefer popping to probing whether it be neonates or Adults, more accurate and less intrusive if done properly.
