In my collection, I have a few that I personally would consider being Pastel, but since they weren't sold to me as such, I don't publicly call them such labels.
Now I have aquired a couple new males from a guy just a couple miles away, and I humbly bring before you, -The Pastel Boa Council of Experts- (of which I am not a part of), this little gem that I'm pretty sure has what it takes to be considered a true PASTEL. Please judge for yourselves, and be critical, constructive, and honest - I'd really like some input on your thoughts here. You'd die if you knew what I got him for.
Here he is - let him have it.

Thanks for looking, David

Actually most of the babies were showing some forms of abberancies, but there were a few with light, faded looks. I got three from him - the two males that I already had shown, and a female that was also real light with a big tail pattern. i sold her (can't keep everything I want), but I kept the lightest male, and his bro with the cool belly.

He's got more black, but still very broken washed out side medalliond, but the belly on this one was completelywithout speckling -almost striped looking. See for yourself.
Take care, David

I think she is ultra light in appearance, and her saddles are almost not there! especially up front!

I don't know how she was produced. She could've been a normal from a hypo litter that took on some of the 'hypo'ness' and just looks a bit lighter.. Or she could be the holdback from a pair of commons..

I would think she looks 'Pastel'ish' in appearance, and has a bit of a washed out look, faded side and pattern, BUT in my opinion she has way too much black speckled around her lower half and especially around her tail to be a high-end Pastel.

I've seen bigger breeders with true pastels sell true, genetic pastels with that much black, no problem, and she doesn't have THAT much black.. I guess i'm just comparing her to the type of pastels I like, with almost NO black, especially around the tail... like this... (below)

She looks like a keeper, and she looks like she will produce some beautiful babies... that's all that would matter to me!!!

Take care, Joe Rollo - BciJoe

If they are, you can't compair, Hypos will have reduced black, if those are not hypos, then they are truely beautiful pastels.

which seems to mean that it should really be about 14-20 days from now - the way everybody seems to be having long gestations this year. As long as its not early. I'll shoot you some pics when they're born. Thanks, David
