Epi-dermis separating from Dermis!

Hi, I am quite familiar with Beardies and their illnesses, but this one has me floored. I have a female whose skin has turned black bubbled and completely come off. She is not shedding and when it comes off it is thick and the under lining is pink. Her scales and horns in these areas are no longer. She acts fine except for tenderness. It is not at all attractive. It is almost like a hairless (scaleless) pet. It has happened on her sides the most and on only one side of her beard. The rest of her back only is coming off, but not as bad. There is no scent, but it is as if her skin is literally dying. She has been with me since she was only a month old, she is now 1 1/2 years old, and she comes from a decent (so I was told) bloodline. This just happened within a week. If anyone has any advice or experience with skin disorders please advise.

it sounds like it could be a bacterial infection & need antibiotics. I would def. take it to the vet ASAP & see if they can test the area for ID.

Good luck!

I was thinking it was severe burns but infection or fungus maybe the problem as well. Deffinitely take her to a vet without delay.

yeah, it really could be a varitey of things...burns, bacterial infections, fungus etc... you really need to get a reptile vet ASAP to figure out what is going on. Until then quanentine the individuals with symptoms and wash your hands really well between handling animals.
