need help with vision cage size for beardies...

joijoi29 Jul 18, 2005 09:17 AM

I'm about to order a Vision cage for my beardie but I am stumped on which one to purchase. The 322 is 38Lx28Wx18H and the 422 is 48x28x18. I think Bennet (breeder w/ many vision cages) keeps his in the 322's and that is what I have heard many use, but I just want to get the one thats most appropriate for a single adult. I had originally wanted to purchase the 422 but they are about $100 more..do they really need the extra for a single adult? Any advice would be helpful...I'll wait till this evening to purchase.

TIA

Marilee

I don't own any Vision cages but do own a large male dragon. His home made cage is 48"x19" which I feel is about a minimum. I only say that because he really takes advantage of the thermal gradiant. In fact I think he'd prefer his cool end if it were even cooler. Harder to do in a smaller cage.

Also, does that 4' Vision you mentioned have the center divider? If so, I have heard that it's a nice feature, although I've not seen it in person.

Yes....I did finally get a response today (took a while). I think I'm just going to go for the 4". It will just be that much more room, especially since thats what they'll spend the rest of their lives in, might as well be the most comfortable.

Thanks,
Marilee

I have a 4ft vision for mine and it is a great size.

that being said - i do not like visions. they are so dark. I installed fixtures on the inside for lighting. the grey is really drab and the "vent" for the uv is dense.

One I put in a fixture inside the cage - my guys ate better and seemed happier.
