Being new to all this, I chose to use crushed walnuts opposed to sand. Now that the female is carring eggs and does not appear to be depositing them after 30 days, could it be because of the crushed walnuts? If so, what kind of snd do I use?
Thanks!

Crushed walnuts are bad to use as a substrate...they contain very sharp edges and do get ingested when lizards eat. In time, they can cause serious digestion issues such as impaction and ulcerations.
Please read the attached link under the topic of "bedding."

After telling you everything about the eggs, I noticed after reading it again you said you used crushed walnut shells with the vermiculite.
I was confused, I thought you meant you had that ready for the eggs to incubate.
As far as her NEST in the tank to lay just use dampened sand WASHED PLAYSAND from home depot 50lb bags for about 4.99
And just plain vermiculite to incubate eggs.
