Nice looking snake. Looks like she still has lots of orange. Congratulations on finding her.

Thanks. She's just starting to freckle up more and more...I wonder how dark she'll end up. I didn't think I'd ever find her!! I've beefed up security on her enclosure...lol...

I don't know what the rest of your enclosure is like, but you should probably get some sort of perch for your Savu if you don't have one already. And maybe some more burrowing options. Savus really like to climb, perch and burrow. Your snake will appreciate it, and you'll get to enjoy seeing stuff like this all the time:

Yes. That pic was from just a few minutes after she was found...I had actually emptied out her cage 'cause I was thinking I may not find her!! Her usual set-up has aspen bedding for the burrowing and a big deer antler as a perch...she climbs all night long and burrows during the day. I'm not sure why these guy's aren't more popular as they do make for neat dispaly animals. The antler perch is cool. Easy to clean etc...I'll post a pic of her on it when I can. I have seen Savus that have rubbed themselves raw when not provided something to burrow under. How old is yours??

She is either a late 2003 or early 2004, I think. We got her in January from a local reptile shop. I picked up a future mate for her a couple of months ago - I think he's a late 2004. With any luck I'll be able to breed them in a couple of years.

Anyway, yeah, I think they are excellent pets. Semi-arboreal, gradual changes in color, manageable size... Definitely one of the best pythons to keep.
