Anyone know how to catch.....

reptileink Jul 18, 2005 04:04 PM

.....a peacock gecko?? He's been on the loose in my house for going on two weeks. I had two chances to capture him, but alas he has evaded me. I have a fishnet that I caught him in before, but can't seem to catch him(he is SO fast). I am getting concerned, although he looked pretty healthy today. Any type of "trap" I can catch him in?? I was thinking of setting out some babyfood, but not sure how or what to capture him in. I was thinking about the soda bottle trick you can use for minnows, but will it work for a gecko?? Please help if you have ideas!

I would not know, hehehehe ! I have used a net for my ginat day gecko, I have had her take a walk on her own while I'm cleaning her tank, and when I look shes pretty far up the wall

So I just made the handle longer and kinda nudged her down to where I could snatch her!

Hope ya manage to nab yours ! Let us know how ya make out !

I can say that when i have an escapee i look for them in the morning. If there are other cages in your herp room you may find them sitting on the basking lights or fluorescents. I once lost a klemmeri (expensive loss) and found her the next day on top of her fluorescent lamp fixture at about 9:00 AM. Good luck!
