Hi,

Im planning on putting my ball in a 36"x24"x11.5" boaphile cage. Im not sure on what kind of heating method would be the best, as my room is too cool for just ambient temps. They offer a radiant heat panel inside the cage or heat tape either under the cage or in a panel on the bottom.

I got my ball about a year ago from some people that wanted to start traveling and wanted to give the snake to someone who would care for it properly. They said he was about 11 years old and ate primarily gerbils. They gave me their cage and all the decorations in it. While it's nice stuff, I don't think its really suited for a ball, hence the switch. It's more of an arboreal cage, with big branches all over and a gravel substrate. While he's(she's?) never had a problem with eating, shedding, etc...the tall cage is hard to get into to clean. Also, he decides he wants to be arboreal a lot and falls sometimes, which makes me nervous.

Here's a pic of the old cage just so you guys can see, and a pic of him in the branches lol. Any help on the heating/lighting of the boaphile cage would be appreciated. Thanks.
