Finding California mountain kingsnakes in San Jose?

miller1234 Jul 19, 2005 01:23 AM

I live in Morgan Hill CA, about 10 miles south of san jose. Ive been looking for kingsnakes for some time now with no luck, does anybody know of any spots they would be willing to leak around San Jose

try going for a road cruise through any mountain ranges up there in the bay area. Start at dusk and try driving roads that aren't to well traveled. That should give you a shot at seeing one.

Try Steven's creek canyon/Montebello ridge/HiWay 35 Skyline Blvd. These are all in West Side Santa Clara Co. These areas may have changed a lot in the last 30yrs but in the late 60's early 70's i collected some zonata there.
