Here is a baby female produced from the burgundy male with a het...

for albino hondo. I was told that this snake did not look like it doe's now. It turned this color with size. Exactly what it looked like as a baby I can only try to imagine. I can see the center orange is starting to get red bleeding into it. The wider red bands are getting darker also. It could be that it carries the tangerine gene and another gene for the burgundy. Maybe when I breed her back to the father I will get the burgundy hondo. Or maybe this is a burgundy that is in the making. Time will tell in all accounts. Thanks...Ric Blair

Particularly nice animal since all the bands are complete and nicely spaced. On a lot of hondurans, the banding is not perfect, despite beautiful colors. Just curious...on what % of neonates do you find the perfect banding?

burgundy male are perfectly banded. I have no idea what the percentage would be overall on all baby hondurans....Ric

I've been selectively breeding hondurans for perfect banding/triads for years. I've noted that any slight aberrancies (sp?) are most always expressed in the offspring. Much harder to breed for perfect bands then to work on expressing certain aberrant markings.

Good question!

Thanks for your answer, Marc!

Would love to see some photos of super select hondurans, especially hybinos, the socalled "Pearl Snow" and variations of tangerine "albinos". There animals are alarmingly beautiful!!!
