Looks like a corn to me. What's the story behind it?
My guess is that this snake is a hypomelanistic Miami Phase Corn Snake.
That silver is incredible looking...Paul
So is there a concensus that it IS a corn? because if so I want one! I have never seen that coloration in a corn! It would be awesome if we could mix that with Bluekings golden corn and have a silver base color with golden sadles! I would buy about 50

What about the lack of checker board pattern on the belly that corn snakes have though?

That snake looks 100% corn to me.
I would say Miami phase or South Florida wild caught.
Definitel a beauty.

"What about the lack of checker board pattern on the belly that corn snakes have though? "
On my Corn, the checkering has to do mostly with the black skin pigment. Since this snake has very little black pigment, you are not seeing the classic checkerboard pattern.
The checkerboard missing is my thought, too.

I'd have to say corn as well but the colouring does look very similar to a Bairds X Corn that I have seen....lots of silver with orange/reddish saddles. The one I am compairing it to is just a hatchling though and the colours may end up different.
That spearpoint, but that silver! No checkerboard.... I'm stumped, but I've seen Zee's golden corn in person so could be all corn. GREAT LOOKING snake, that's for sure. Can i have it? LOL!

Since you posted I have looked at your pick at least 30 times.I wanted to say Miami but the heavy straw color threw me off.Where did you purchase this corn?Your corn is incredible looking.I want one....Paul.
@the moment there R no plan 2 breed the animal,it was handed 2 me @ work by the police just yesterday they found the little 1 on a common about 3miles from the shop(reptile1) but in my years of experince Ive no seen a rat or corn like it!thanks R UR views

a keys corn?
A bairdi X guttata did cross my mind, though.
Very small chance of finding out for sure with a corn-looking snake, though.
It sure is a nice one.

...and I think to myself, "What a wonderful world."
Photos that I have seen of Black x Yellow show some striping in their pattern. This snake loos old enough that you would see some of this if it were crossed with a Bairds. I still think it a a hypo-melanistic Maimi Phase Corn.
Reasons:
Some, but very little black (argument for sayiny it is Hypo-melanistic)
Head pattern looks normal
Checkerd pattern missing from belly (caused by the lack of melanin)
Would like to see some photos of an adult Baird x Maimi Corn to see if you are right, and my guess is all wrong.
It sure looks like a silver phase rosy rat to me. I have seen similar, though not quite as strikingly silver ones as that. It is a beauty.
Jim
