Scuttlebutt's hints of color

el_toro Jul 19, 2005 01:02 PM

Today's picture of Scuttlebutt. I'm so sad I'm going to miss him developing his colors since I'll be away. He changes every night, it seems! These colors look a little washed out compared to real life, but it was the best I could do.

So Cute! Maybe you can convince your pet sitter to snap a picture whenever the occasion arises so you don't have to miss the next 5 months entirely.

I understand how hard it must be to leave the animals, but what I wouldn't give to go to Scotland for 5 months! Or even 2 weeks! Need a secretary on your trip?

What a little beauty! He has changed quite a bit. As was said before, maybe your helper can take a photo for you every few weeks as a pictorial diary. I must have missed the fact that you will be in Scotland...how awesome. It is my "home" country, as I am 1/2 Scottish on my dad's side. I have been there a few times and the country and people are remarkable. I'm sure you'll enjoy the food and all the pubs! Have a great time and a safe trip. It is an experience you will never forget.

wow!!! he is really coloring up!!! i have been away and not keeping up here on the posts. hope all goes well with your trip. when i came home the first thing i noticed was that luca was getting some color on his head now. not nearly as much as scuttlebutts though. one of these days i will take pics. know you are having heat issues right now but have you decided if you will keep them w/o substrate while you are gone? luca will be getting sand for his 1'st b-day in sept and i can not wait. hope all is well with his sister also!

Hiya!

If I were to be home for the next several months, I would have kept them on towels for a while longer. Since I'm going to be gone, and want to make things as easy as possible on the housesitter, I went ahead and put them on millet about 3 days ago. Scuttlebutt's the smaller and he's 7.5" STL, and they're NEARLY a year old. It should be safe enough. So far, other than an initial taste test, neither is interested in eating it.
