Will be getting some wind around 40 max and it has begun to rain off and on since 4pm. I think tonight and tomorrow all the rain comes. The weather men are predicting 2 to 6 inches of rain here...We are 4 inches below normal.
Corpus Christi is well north of the damaging winds and flooding, but we are in a tornado watch and are experiencing coastal flooding.
I think Emily will get us out of our drought though.....
Thanks for the concern Mark....I know you guys over there in FL got it bad last year. I only hope a hurricane doesn't plan to visit on August 27th or 28th....cause I will be in Daytona....

Have you ever noticed or have this happen when a major storm is coming even your most active snakes are in their hides like waiting it out?
Here in SW AZ we have the monsoon season this time of year and with all my snakes in glass display cages througout the house I have noticed during some of these storms the my most active snakes will be in their hides just before and during the inclement weather. I've often wondered if snakes can instictively sense the barometric changes in the weather and know it's time to get shelter.
Yesterday night, I went out field herping here and usually we see at least 2-3 sidewinders. After a couple of hours out in the desert going to our favorite spots, we called it a night and never saw a single snake. Then about 2 hours after I got home a small desert monsoon wind storm (some 20-30mph winds) hit with lots clouds bringing in humidity.
Maybe it's millions of years of evolution and a survival tool because I've heard other animal species besides reptiles can be sensitive to changes in the weather.

Uncloudy
