Compact Florescent bulb question

How long should compact flourscent bulbs last? I've had one since late April, then suddenly yesterday it went out.

Mine are GE's and the package says 7 years. Sounds like you might have a defective one.

i dont have pc lights on my frog tanks, but i have them on my reef, theyre supposed to last at least a year (for reefs we have to change them at least once a year, and they still work fine, but not for reef fine).
