can chondros be crossed with anything besides carpets?

mrcat997 Jul 19, 2005 11:16 PM

has anyone ever heard of chonros being mixed with anything so that something is created other than a carpondro?im not a fan of hybrids, some times i dont mind, but in the case of chondros, well the carpondro mix does nothing for it in my opinion.the snake created is far less attractive than a full bred chondro.its like mixing pamala anderson with rosanne barr cause you wanna make a hot chick with brown hair.it just doesnt work.this said,i still cant keep from looking at the pictures of carpondros and wondering what a 3/4 chondro 1/4 carpet would look like.too bad all carpondros are sterile.or are they?

I'm Sorry if this sounds harsh, but why would Carpondros be Sterile? Can you provide proof of them, or any other snake Hybrid being sterile? Hybrid vigor is here to stay ( whether you like Hybrids or not ) Now back to your original question; Unless proven otherwise, you could probably cross them with a lot of other Python species. The question is if and when, and of course, that can only be answered when it happens. We know that crossing Morelia and Liasis can produce offspring, so I guess we just have to wait and see

if you read my post i was asking IF they were all sterile, not making the statement.everywhere i read,it says that they are either sterile or at the very least none have bred yet.where can i get more info on carpondros? im wondering how they behave.are they totally arborial and perch like chondros?or do they behave like a mixture of both?i really think that a 75 percent chondro carpondro would be a much nicer snake.
