I got a new baby tegu and it ran up my arm and escaped into the house. I have searched for days and it has not turned up. I have turkey and giblets cat food and a hide box out but still no tegu. Any one have any suggestions? How long can it survive?

Try putting a pinkie mouse or a hard bioled egg out . You might have to get some sort of live trap.Good luck russ

Thanks Russ, I will give it a try-the cat food isn't working.
You may want to ry sprinkling some baby powder here and there, in doorways and near likely hiding places. Its messy, but you may be able to see where he is and what he's doing by any drags he leaves. try to stay away from any scented or medicated stuff, what with all the tongue flicking they do. Flour works to.
i had a tegu that ecaped while i was cleaning his cage. I lost him for 2 weeks! I gave up until one day i said hey let me try to think like a lizard! I crawled around my whole apt and look into any crack he could get into. He ended up under my stove sleeping on the track. he was missing for 2 weeks. So keep looking, but he might not come out for a while. i would turn up the heat in your house. open some screened windows and let it get warm in the house for a few days. This may wake hime up and he may search for food.
