Here's what I woke up to this morning...

RioBravoReptiles Jul 20, 2005 10:09 AM

.. a hurricane. So far it's no big deal.. we'll see.

I have some Boa that are due.. as of right now I see no action.. I'm really not a big believer in the 'storm effect' but if a Cat3 hurricane isn't enough of a barometric phenomenon to cause parturition, what is?

Be safe!

Thats a baby, Hurricane Andrew was the Sire of all hurricanes LOL... I went through another in 79' that was a direct hit on our island (off mobile bay). They sure are fun, hang on to your umbrella! and good luck!

Andrew was big.. and it caused a lot of damage to all the sub-standard construction in coastal areas.

I was here in 67 when Beulah hit, the eye went right over my house.. that was a big storm. There was 20+ inches of rain in about a day.. big fish swimming in the street and piles of snakes and other terrestrial vertebrates on the high-spots..

I went through the same thing last year .we had 3 2 were direct hits. The baromatic pressure wasn't bad .it was the 3 weeks without elctric that screwed us.The 2 weeks on the next one.I feel for you man GET A GENERATOR the loss of just 1 snake would pay for it.My insurance covered mine.Good luck.

Me too. I live in Vero Beach. We took those puppies right on the chin last year. I've had to move 4 times in the last year but now things are better. I really hope we don't see any of those here this year.

You're right though the worst wasn't the moving it was not having AC in southern Florida in the middle of August that sucked.
