Indian Star purchase

Phelsuma04 Jul 20, 2005 12:25 PM

Hello. I am currently in the market for CB indian star tortoises and (as many of you are well aware) they are quite difficult to come by. Another website has classifieds with 2-3 year old stars for sale constantly but everytime I inquire the people posting the classified always say they are from Africa. I have heard that some people in Africa raise tortoises on farms. I have also heard that some of them scam people like us and when we send them the money they send no tortoise. Have any of you heard anything about this? Let me know please.

Thanks you very much. AD

If it is too good to be true, it is.

There is no reason to buy from overseas. There are quite a few breeders here in the states and more showing up as the years goes on.

Email me directly for some good breeders. Prices run $350 to $400 for true captive hatched babies. Remember... you get what you pay for.
